The University of Pennsylvania International Affairs Association (IAA) expands its Ivy League Model United Nations Conference (ILMUNC) to Vietnam, marking its debut in Southeast Asia following international conferences in India, China and Peru. The conference aims to inspire innovative solutions amongst high school students and encourage progress in society through discourse in a realistic environment that exposes delegates to the nuances of international affairs and the functions of international governmental organisations like the United Nations.
The IAA was founded in 1963 and consists of over 400 members in the Penn community. It serves to promote diplomacy and international affairs at Penn and beyond, and organises conferences including the Penn International Relations Conference (PIRC), University of Pennsylvania Model United Nations Conference (UPMUNC), the Ivy League Model United Nations Conference (ILMUNC), ILMUNC China, and ILMUNC India.
